Bell teams up with Philadelphia Eagles

80% of vision problems can be detected with a simple eye exam, but many under-or uninsured children have no access to vision care. In 1996 with founding support from Philadelphia Eagle, Jermane Mayberry, the Philadelphia Eagles Eye Mobile has traveled to a different school each day to provide comprehensive vision care to children in the Greater Philadelphia area. So far the program has served over 71,000 children and distributed over 52,000 pairs of glasses.

In preparation for the new school year, the Eye Mobile got a make-over compliments of Reichert Technologies and Bell Ophthalmic.

Bell installed all of the equipment and made alterations for the mobile eye bus. Rachel Weiner, the Director of Vision Programs at the Eagles Charitable Foundation said, “The upgraded equipment makes us look so much cooler and more high-tech, and I know it will also lead to a better experience and exam for the students as well.

A big thank you to everyone at Bell who did an outstanding job with installing the Reichert equipment. Brian went above and beyond, and custom-welded a phoropter pole and even tried to fix our generator when it wasn’t cooperating. Tony also excellent care of us!”
